The nursery is provided for infants up to 2 years of age for
Sunday School and Sunday morning and evening worship services and
most other church-related functions. Calvary's Nursery is
exceptional for two reasons. First, the ladies who work with the
babies and toddlers are ladies that have been gifted by God with
a special love and understanding for children. Many of our ladies
have been with us for over twenty years and are members of
Calvary. The Lord has blessed them with a zeal to provide a safe,
loving atmosphere for the little ones placed in their care.
Secondly, Calvary screens all nursery workers and promotes a high standard of safety and
cleanliness which combined with the love of the workers makes our
nursery as close to "home" as possible. The Deacon-of-the-week
makes periodic checks of the nursery area to insure that all is
well. The nursery is equipped with a weather alert radio and a
signaling device to announce to parents in the sanctuary when
their assistance is needed with their child.
Sunday school classes are provided for children 2 year olds through 6th
grade. Calvary uses a Bible-based curriculum. Age appropriate materials for each age group
is used to encourage each child to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
All children's ministry workers are screened before being selected for the
various age groups.
For the Children during Church
Young preschool (ages 2 and 3 years old) children start their worship time with their teacher in their classroom for Bible teaching focused on their needs and comprehension level.
"Children's Bible Connection" is provided for children in Pre-K through grade 2 during the classic worship service. The children have their own worship and Bible teaching service focused on their needs and comprehension level.
"IMPORTANT STUFF"
Sunday School for Junior High (Grades 7, and 8) meets each Sunday in room 9 of the Family Life Center. A time of fellowship is followed by a topical lesson based on Scriptural truths. They are taught in a manner which addresses the specific needs of junior highers at a level to which they can relate.
Sunday School for High School Students (Grades 9 -12) meets
each Sunday in the "Depot" (which was once an actual
train depot in Ryland). The group is challenged and developed
spiritually by our Pastor of Family Ministries as well as a group of dedicated young adults and parents. The
High School youth are a close knit group who are active in numerous CBC
ministries. The group is
representative of the many public, private and home schools in
the Huntsville area. All youth workers, chaperones, and helpers are
screened before being allowed to work with our youth.
