Missions

The spiritual needs of the world have been in the heart of the church since its beginning. Obedience to the Great Commission requires each of us, "as we are going," to make disciples- - - no matter what our vocation. However, for the whole world to hear the Good News some must be "sent". The missions activities focus on the latter. The selection of candidate missionaries, mission agencies, finance development, information, promotion, and many other facets require the work of those whose special gifts equip them for this service. Many serve the Lord in this way.

Each year, usually in October, a Missions Conference is held to bring to the church body five to seven missionaries and their families for a report on their work on the mission field. This builds personal relationship among the missionaries and members of the church. During the Annual Missions Conference a special emphasis is planned for the children with the goal of making world missions an exciting reality. It is also a chance for our children to consider the possibilities of missions for themselves.
